Not so cool dog...

I retract my post from a couple of days ago about our "coolest dog." Last evening as my husband was bringing boxes into the house (whole other story), he neglected to check his shoes at the door. Not only do we remove our shoes when we come in the house (it's an Alaska thing), but we always leave them at the door as to not ruin the carpet during our fabulous mucky seasons. I'm sure none of you can see where this is headed...

Now, he could have been wearing plain shoes/sandals, etc. but NO! These were HIKING BOOTS. LOTS of tread. Suddenly the downstairs reeks!! There are yellowish-orange, massive tread marks through my ENTIRE downstairs and into one of the bedrooms with white carpet. I hear my husband say "has your mom seen this yet?" Oooh... I knew it was bad. After breathing in through my nose and out my mouth a few times I decided to assess the damage. Yes more work for me but doable... until I realize I loaned out my shampooer!! I frantically called the loanee just to leave a desperate message to call immediately when she got home from Enrichment (oh yeah, shoot, I was supposed to be at Enrichment too!). At this point I need to do some calming breathing again but breathing through the nose was OFF LIMITS.

Once I sent all of the children to bed and could clear my head, I calmly called a friend up the street to beg for her shampooer. All is well but now I hate having a dog. I decided he needs to eat breast milk so his poop won't stink.
