Heart Search

Stern and I attended an adult fireside last Friday evening together. It was so suspenseful because the topic had been kept under wraps. You can imagine the body language of every couple when the woman stood up and said "I have been asked to speak tonight on sexual intimacy."

You could cut the tension in the room! Everyone stiffened up. And, of course, no one looked at each other because then others might assume that must be one of your issues. Men leaned forward with their head in their hands, women sat with their backs to their husbands. Hilarious!

The material really was fantastic and being a marriage counselor, she presented the material very straightforward and centered in the gospel.

One thing that intrigued me was her reference to a way that she recently studied the Book of Mormon. She went on a "heart search." As she read, she circled the word heart every time she came across it and drew a heart on the side.

I loved this idea! With my new, $2 Book of Mormon, I have had a blast drawing all over in it. I have realized that I don't want to "draw" in my expensive scriptures so I am even careful not to underline stuff most of the time because I don't want it to look messy. Here's an example of what I am doing...

Hearts are circled and, in this particular chapter, what those hearts lead to. Jump on board anytime!
